Dear MPP
The Ontario Government’s proposal to repeal sections of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum and replace it with an outdated curriculum from 1998 threatens the health and safety of children and youth.
The impacts of this repeal will put children and youth at an increased risk of negative physical, mental, and sexual health outcomes. It will limit access to essential information about healthy relationships, accepting and celebrating diversity, and to the tools children and youth need to safely navigate the modern world. It is essential that children and youth have access to the education that reflects their lived experience and that the current Health & Physical Education Curriculum is kept in place. The world has changed since 1998. Our children’s education should reflect that.
Let Ontario’s kids know that you have their back. I urge you to speak out and protect evidence-based based education that accepts and supports all Ontarian families and children.
